An unexpected visit

 My name is Altea Hasa and I arrived in Italy a few months ago. I wanted to tell you about a “trip” when me and my class went to a church near our school: church San Giovanni Battista. I never went inside of it so i was a bit excited.

On tue 8 of december 2020 we went there with my Music teacher, Guerra. Two of our classmates explained us things about the church. It was built in the medieval age. The construction is a gothic style: we can understand it from the tall spires, the pointed arched windows, the bell tower, the rosettes and many decorations that are inside. It was gorgeous and magnificent. Inside the church there was a musical instrument for which is why we went to visit it: the organ. This instrument is in perticuliar is capable of playing many notes and sounds, which can be set through the register, a truly impressive thing taking into account that it was a medieval invention. It was built by the Serassi family for our church, the church of San Giovanni Battista. It consists of three keyboards, two for the hands and one for the feet. The operation of this instrument takes place through its pipes through which air passes , thus producing the desired sound. It is an incredible thing for me, because it only takes a couple of seconds to change the sound and the timbre of the organ. I was happy with this visit, I hope it will be the first in this beautiful new country.
